Vaughan's Catfish On The Lake in Pittsburg

A must go place for the top catfish eating experience ever.

Went there with my in-laws expecting delicious fresh food from the reviews and was disappointed. The view was nice. I ordered the booked shrimp and it was good but very pricey. My father in law got the catfish and it was not tasty. Tasted as if it was fried way too long and then just sitting under a heat lamp until someone ordered it. For the amount each dish cost, we were very disappointed. The Cole slaw was very yummy though.

We had the 🍤 shrimp and catfish strips all you can eat. The service was first class. We had Stephanie, she is a doll, and she was all over refills. We give Vaughn's a 5 stars for atmosphere, food and service.

Awesome food and even better service , young lady that waited on us was more than polite and even had a great personality. Her name was toy and I highly recommend you ask for her if you ever visit here .

Good. However, they charged me for all you can eat catfish and I never ordered that. I ate one plate of catfish.

The food was amazing! The waitress wasn't very enthusiastic ,but she was nice. It was our anniversary and first time visit so was hoping for a more excited wait person. Anyways, Loved the food.

Do not go to this place my family love fish I can't eat fish wanted a baked potato was told I had to pay setup fee for food I don't even like very rude

I've never had better or more consistent fries catfish. It is a little expensive but the service is top notch.

Food was good. They have gone up to $22.50 a plate. I can go to HE's and get just as good fish for a lot cheaper. They have priced me out of returning

Vaughn's serves the best quality seafood in all East Texas. The large menu has something for everyone. Casual atmosphere and a friendly staff that treats you like family! A beautiful sunset view, every night. Highly recommend to locals, and especially to visitors in the area.

I absolutely love this place. Great people, great service, amazing food, and a beautiful view of the lake while you dine. Kids eat free on Thursdays, and although they don't have a beer/wine selection, they provide a full service when you BYOB. You will not find better catfish anywhere, and the best fried oysters I've ever had!

Well where do I start. We used to love the Vaughan's in Tyler. This was a terrible experience!! About the only good part was the service. If we would have known the all you can eat was $20 a person we would never have gone there. The fish was hot but really didn't have any flavor. The coleslaw lacked flavor also. Definitely not worth the price!!!! The combo dinners were also very expensive!! We will not be returning!!

Vaughan's is a great lakeside restaurant with a fun small town atmosphere. Everyone that works here is very friendly and hospitable. If your in the area and love a good fried meal you have to stop by. Cant go wrong with anything on the menu but being a catfish restaurant I recomend the Catfish. :)

The fish is greatness! Husband ordered both spicy and lemon pepper, mine are just lemon. Yummmmm The coleslaw isn't too sweet, the pickled tomato relish is good, hush puppies served 2 ways and the pinto beans have just enough spice. Homemade potato fries too, for those who eat carbs.

Average. Come hungry because it’s a LOT of food but you can’t try the catfish for less than $20/person unless you’re a senior. Would be worth it if it was half the price. Views are nice but meh overall.

Lots of tasty food. I had fried and boiled shrimp while my wife had clams and scallops. We both loved the food and would definitely order it again. Very friendly staff. Kelly was wonderful as our server. You could fill up easily on the sides before dinner is served so pace yourself and come hungry.

This place has some good Catfish. The portions are huge. You may not need to get the buffet plates, haha.

Damn fine catfish. Some of the best I know of. Expensive, but worthy. They'll try to fill you up with drink, fixings and hush puppies right out of the gate, but don't buy into it. Save room for the fish! The fillets were perfectly fried, clean, devoid of any fishy taste. Cornmeal had just the right amount of salt. Good size too. Not too large, not too small. Hush puppies were good but not great. Typical catfish house fries. Beans had plenty of jalapeño kick. The service was outstanding. My waitress was extremely friendly and right on the spot. Before I even knew I needed anything, she was there. Blonde haired lady, didn't catch her name, but she was on point. Aces in my book. Worth the 2 hour drive from Dallas. I'll definitely be back.

The all you can eat fish and shrimp combo is where its at. Good service and everything tasted great. Show up starving and with at 30-40 bucks for two people.
